Who We Are: The Busy Bee Story

We are a team of six Omani passionate founders who came together with one shared vision: to change the way parents and families in Oman choose toys for their children. At Busy Bee, we believe that play is the key to unlocking a child’s full potential—both mentally and emotionally.

Inspired by the work of experts like Professors Alison Gopnik and Peter Gray, who highlights the importance of independent play for healthy child development, we realized that children today are missing out on something crucial. As Peter Gray states, “It’s really the first time in human history that children have not been free to do a lot of independent things. Children are designed to grow up with independence, and over the last few decades, we’ve been doing things in a way that’s historically abnormal.” This is a growing concern worldwide, and in Oman, we’ve decided to take action.

With our experience as parents and professionals who have worked and studied across different countries, we came to understand the vital role of educational toys in shaping a child's curiosity, creativity, and independence. We’ve gathered insights from around the world to curate a selection of toys that are not only fun but also foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and social development.
